My kids have referred to me as a “Hippie Mama” and I like that. I hope that they’re describing an attitude of embracing life to the fullest. A life full of creative expression, love and kindness. More importantly, I am a child of God. I’m married to my best friend. I’m a Mama to five and Marmee to three. A knowledge seeker, lover of life, gardener, teacher, artist, photographer. A creator of beautiful things and a someday traveler. This blog is a glimpse into my world through words and pictures. Enjoy.

I took a series of photos of my oldest daughter a few years ago and I’ve been wanting to paint these images for a long time. This painting is oil on masonite.
The initial sketch. Masonite board 30″x24″.
I used a color palette inspired by artist Larisa Aukon.
